Women's Ministry Mini Series

Know Who You Are in Christ

We, as women, get so many messages about where our identity should come from; looks, family, career, etc... Our true identity, however, comes from who we are in Christ, as believers.

#1 You are a Saint.

The Collins Dictionary defines a saint as: a person who is righteous in God's sight. When you think of a saint, who comes to your mind: Saint Peter? Saint Paul? The Saints of the Bible? Do you ever think of yourself? Well, in His Word, God says we are saints if Jesus is our Lord.

"Now therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and the household of God." - Ephesians 2:19

" ...being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might... - Colossians 1:11

#2 You are Blessed.

There's an old song that goes: "Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count your blessings, see what God has done..." How many of us take that song to heart? The blessings of being a Christian are too many to count....like the stars in the heavens. No matter what else God may do in our lives, Christ Himself is the biggest blessing we could ever receive. Through Him we have not only eternal life, but life to the fullest here on this earth. "I have come that they may have life and have i

#3 You are Victorious.

1 John 5:4 "for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith."John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."1 Corinthians 15:55-57 " Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

#4 You are Loved.

As a child of God, you are perfectly loved. This love is unconditional. There is nothing you can do to earn it, there is nothing you can do to lose it! We are finite...human. Even the best love we humans can know from another human is still imperfect. No human can love you perfectly... not your spouse, not your parents, not your children. God our Father created you. He knows you inside out. He knows you perfectly AND loves you perfectly. His love is not conditional. There is nothing we can

#5 You are Heard.

Being heard is a basic human need. Dr. Loretta G. Breuning of Psychology Today explains it this way: "You need to express yourself to feel safe. We are born with no survival skills except the ability to express pain and need. When you withhold your urge to be heard, you feel helpless and endangered." She further explains how infants use crying as a survival skill. The baby has a need so he or she cries out and when they have that cry responded to positively is when a trust relationship begins.

#6 You are Forgiven.

The Word states that we have all sinned. Romans 3:23-25 amp version (which I am learning to love this translation!) ... "since all have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God, and are being justified [declared free of the guilt of sin, made acceptable to God, and granted eternal life] as a gift by His [precious, undeserved] grace, through the redemption [the payment for our sin] which is [provided] in Christ Jesus, whom God displayed publicly [before the eyes of the world] as a [l

#7 You are Gifted.

The spiritual gifts in the Word are as follows:• Administration• Being an apostle• Discernment• Evangelism• Exhortation• Faith• Giving• Healing• Helping• Hospitality• Knowledge• Leadership• Mercy• Prophecy• Serving• Speaking in tongues• Teaching (sometimes known as shepherding)• WisdomEach of us is created with strength and weaknesses. We are all given different gifts. Much like a man and wife that compliment each other, we in the church compliment each

#8 You are a Warrior.

You are an equipped warrior.. an enforcer of the battle that's already been won!Everyone in this fallen world experiences heartache, failures pain.... battles we all face. Christians and non-Christians both struggle at times in this world. The one thing that separates the child of God from the non-Christian is that we have the power of the Holy Spirit living in us. We have help when we go through trials... non-Christians do not. I know that God carries us through all of our hardship. But not o

#9 You are Adopted.

To adopt a child, you have to really want that child. No one was ever adopted "by accident." You may get pregnant without intending to, but you don't go through the long, drawn-out process of an adoption unless you really have a desire to have a child. God loves us and wants us so much; He has adopted us. He calls us His own because we believe in Him and follow Him. No one on earth has a perfect human father because, by definition, humans are not perfect. God, however, is the perfect Father.

God loves you more than you know!
